Wow Activity Play Table Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)this table is smaller than typical train table and also higher. i did not want to invest in the floor space required of a bigger traintable. the smaller size fits well in my 3 yr old child's small bedroom and she can play with it standing up only which is ok because she only plays with trains a little bit compared to all her other toys. i have the girl's imaginarium trainset with fountain that fits well enough within the table. the graphic is cute and bright and the table is sturdy and fairly easy to put together (mostly glue and wood dowels all included)

Thomas And Friends Wooden Railway - IslAnd of Sodor Wooden Playtable Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Because this was such an expensive item I did my homework before purchasing the table. I looked at some cheaper tables to begin with but found that they couldn't come close to the Thomas table by Learning Curve. This table is made of solid wood and took me about 5 minutes to put together. I was able to get the playmat for free with the table through a promotion Toys R Us was having at the time of purchase. Another thing that sold me on the Thomas table was that this is the same table they have at Barrnes and Noble and you can imagine how many children play on that day after day. We have the table set up in our son's playroom since it is such a large piece. Unlike many other toys we have purchased in the past, this is one that we will save for years to come. They are expensive, but they are also made well and come with a lifetime guarantee. If you have a problem with one of their products you simply send it to them with a letter and within about 1-2 business weeks they will send you a brand new item. If you are looking to buy a train table I would highly recommend this one. Though it is more expensive, it is worth it in the long run. Why spend $80-$100 on a table that is only going to last a year or so when you can spend a little more and save it forever? One other hint...Michael's Arts and Crafts and A.C. Moore Craft Stores also carry a decent amount of the wooden Thomas toys. Look in your local paper for their 40% off coupons. They apply to Thomas and Friends which makes it a lot more affordable. :)

Melissa and Doug Deluxe Wooden Multi-Activity Table Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My toddler loves this table the the train set (purchased separately). However, when the table arrived it was missing ALL hardware and I had to wait 4 weeks before Melissa and Doug sent me the hardware so I could put it together. It was easy to put together - didn't take much time at all. I'm only giving this product 4 stars however, due to the hardware missing and customer service taking so long to send us the missing hardware. On top of that there was a missing screw hole so my husband had to drill one for me or the drawer would not have worked at all. Good thing my hubby knows how to do that or I would have been out of luck. The other thing is that the table had nicks in a few places which sucks because it doesn't look 100% nice/new. So I was bummed about that and probably won't buy the kitchen set I was looking at because of this. Hope all this info helps.

Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway - Under-the-Bed Trundle Playtable Review

Thomas and Friends Wooden Railway - Under-the-Bed Trundle Playtable

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We bought this train table for our son last year. The table is beautifully painted and the storage drawer actually holds quite a lot in the way of tracks and trains. The table itself was easy to assemble and is sturdy and well-made.
The under-the-bed table is a great idea in theory, but for us, not in practice. I purchased this table because I had hoped to store it under my son's bed each night and when not in use. Instead, it ended up "living" in the middle of our family room.
The table itself slides under a toddler or twin bed easily enough, but only if there is nothing on the table at all (except maybe the track alone, flat on the table). Trains and accessories do not fit, so the layout must be disassembled and stored in order to slide the table under the bed.
The second thing I have observed is that my now 3 1/2 year old seems to prefer playing at the stand-up train tables because he can manuever more easily around them and is able to better reach the center of the table. With this particular table, he ends up climbing and/or sitting on it to access the center, and he has to scoot around the table on his knees (as opposed to easily walking around it) to push and play with his trains.
All in all we like the table, but given the chance to purchase it again I would buy the regular "stand-up" type and use bins as storage underneath the table.

Imaginarium Classic Train Table with Roundhouse Wooden Train Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a GREAT train set,it is actually built with more quality and detail than the Thomas the Train and Brio Sets. It has good solid construction, the items are all scratch resistant ( so it stays looking nice), and it has interactive sounds and lights! My only problem is that if you take the set apart it is really hard to get it back together... I lost my instructions ( so keep them!). My son (2) spends hours playing with the set! It has helped him with hand-eye coordination, color recognition, counting, and memory. It is by far best investment ever!!! We usually buy the Thomas Trains to go on the track and they work perfect!

Thomas And Friends Wooden Railway - IslAnd Adventure Playboard Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We have a collection of Thomas and Brio trains and track, and use this playboard on a table that we built. While it is impossible to actually construct track that stays on "dry land" (some of the playboard scenery is rivers etc) this background scenery does add to our enjoyment of the playing with trains. The whole family (ages 1 to 30-something) enjoys constructing new layouts.
This board can easily be damaged in transit. Our second attempt was successful. I advise you to order this well before you need it.
NOTE: We've had this for 4 years or so now. The plastic coating has all peeled off. It still looks nice though and is being used by another toddler now. When we bought this, it was the only good option for playing with trains; now there are so many basic playtables that could be used for a multitude of activities (puzzles, cars, blocks) - that I would buy something more versatile rather than this train themed tabletop.

KidKraft® Trundle Drawer Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Let me first say that I love KidKraft because they think like parents!
Also, as of 12/9/06 Amazon did not have the correct image of this item, the pictures was for the kidkraft trundle in the natural color, not honey.
These trundles came with my son's train table from KidKraft. I was drawn to them for many reasons:
*They are BIG!!!! You can't fit all the train pieces in those other tables that have pull out drawers or the tiny baskets that slide underneath the table. I LOVE that two trudles are the size of the table - HUGE!
*They are on casters. Easy in, easy out! My kid can do it so I don't have to! They are easy enough to roll around that my 2-year-old son can do it on his own. If you look carefully at the trundles, you'll see that there are even cut-outs for small fingers to grab the trundles so they can move them. It's impossible to smash your fingers between the trundle and table.
*They are easy for kids organize! One side of the trundle has a rope handle, while the other side has a chalkboard plate so you can label what is in each! (or do as I did, and draw a picture of a train and a picture of train tracks so my kiddo knows what is what since he can't read yet)
*Again, did I mention they are HUGE??
These trundles are well made with the casters fitting easily into place by screwing in a pre-drilled hole. A simple washer fits over the top and lays flush with the inside of the table so little ones can't hurt themselves on sharp screws or hardware. My husband and I had these both put together (he did one while I did the other) in 10 minutes max.
Like I said in the beginning, these were well thought out. I love the features of the trundles - I'm sure a parent was involved in creating these! I also believe you get what you pay for, and while these are some of the more 'expensive' trundles on the market, they are well worth it. After a year of play, they are holding up just fine, with very little wear and tear (and that's with a 2-year-old!)

KidKraft® Train Table Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)What little boy or girl doesn't love trains? I have a 5 year old girl and a 1 year old boy and every time we go to one of those stores with a train set like this one out for the kids to try I always have a hard time dragging my kids away. Well, now my kids can play with a train set as long as they want!
This set comes with the perfect amount of trains, cars, and track for several kids to play at once and keep one kid entertained for hours.
My kids are also fond of Thomas the Train whose vehicles are fully compatible.
The table is very sturdy while the 120 piece train set is also well made and you cannot beat the price which I would have been willing to spend just for the table alone.
I would highly recommend this set to anyone whose kids like trains or have had to be pried away from an in store display.

Metropolis Train Table & Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Everyone here agrees, the train set is great! But the table...eh. The table is made of particle board and looks and feels cheap. Toward the end of putting it together, we realized that a board was chipped pretty badly. We looked in the box, and found the piece that had been chipped off.
