How To Train Your Dragon Movie Deluxe 7 Inch Action Figure Monstrous Nightmare Review

(More customer reviews)Finally, Spin Master has released the one dragon that was not sent out during the Wave 1 series. This toy is very large for starters, by far the largest of the dragons (which makes sense because they were the largest ones the Vikings fought in the movie as well). The toy is also very durable and could withstand a lot of playtime. The wings snap in place really nice, so you should not have the same issues like wings falling off all the time like you did for the original 7 inch dragon figures. The Monstrous Nightmare has a flapping action: shake it up and down and the wings flap and head bobs down. The neck is also moveable.
This figure is stuck in a flying motion and the legs do not move similar to the Zippleback figure from Wave 1. So if you buy this item for a child, be aware he or she cannot have the dragon stabilize itself on the ground. However, this figure is actually fun to play with unlike the Zippleback where only the heads and tails could be posable. Also buy this figure from Walmart if you can. These toys should have recently shipped to local stores and the Monstrous Nightmare should still be in stock (if you want the Toothless figure, well then good luck there).
Overall, this dragon was my favorite from the movie and I knew I had to add it to my collection. It may not have more fun features like the Gronckle's fireball or the Deadly Nadder's biting action, but your kid should have fun playing with this toy. And if you are a collector like myself, this figure looks really nice hanging from the ceiling or anywhere else you choose to place it. It was definitely worth forking out the $12 for the dragon.
