Bachmann Trains Thomas And Friends - Edward Engine With Moving Eyes Review

(More customer reviews)As a kid, I was fond of the characters in the series (at least prior to Season 5), but the one character that stuck out the most, was Edward. He is one of my favorite characters because like depicted in the classic series, he is an older and wiser engine, who can also show that even if he's old, he can help be a banker (a term for 'back' engine) pushing heavier trains up Gordon's Hill. I also like the fact that out of all the Thomas products made by Bachmann (at least for the ones that appeared in Season 1), Edward stood out the best because not only does he keep his basis sooo accurate, but also is close to his RWS counterpart that also looks similar in a sense! If anyone is collecting an engine from Bachmann, this character is a good start.
As soon as I received this model from the mail, I was speechless of how accurate this character really is... Definitely like the character shown in the TV series and RWS, runs very well, and pulls a lot of trucks (the UK term for 'cars' or 'wagons') and coaches more than others could have. Lovely model and definitely recommend this character for your Thomas and Friends layout!

BRIO Smart Track Repair Shed Review

(More customer reviews)Our 4 year old son loves trains, and his favorite show is the History Channel's Extreme Trains. He loves an episode with the "Barstow Repair Shop", so he was absolutely thrilled to get his own repair shed! This was the gift on Christmas morning that got the hugest grin of excitement! It seems to be very well made and I can see it lasting a long time.
The down side is that you cannot hear the engine sounds unless you buy the Brio Track Reader Engine, which is not available by itself, but only with a set and not cheaply. Our son doesn't realize it should make sounds and so isn't disappointed. But I know he would have loved to hear the engine noises. Would love if they would have packaged the engine with this shed, or at least sold it separately.

He knew he was the only one who knew how to truly put out the fire. He wanted to get a cat out of the tree. He was disappointed that they used apples in the tree instead of a cat. We're guessing he got that from one of his books. I highly recommend the Fire Brigade Play Set.

BRIO Mechanical Turntable Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this to be a part of my daughter's train set, and have been nothing but disappointed. For starters, the red circular center piece can easily be removed, and I anticipate the day it comes up missing permanently. The wood is slightly bowed, and though it does not impede play, I was expecting a higher quality of toy (this is Brio after all). The most disappointing thing, though, was how small the turntable is. I knew it would not support the larger engines (e.g. Gordon and Henry), but I was surprised that even mid-sized engines such as Edward and James would not fit. I wish I had kept the box because I would love to return this item.

(More customer reviews)The "Thomas and James with a light and a button" were ALL my 4 year old son wanted for Christmas, and they were the only thing he managed to ask Santa for. Christmas morning they were in his stocking, but he (and I) were HUGELY disappointed that the lights and sounds stopped working on Thomas within 24 hours. My husband replaced the battery in it (one of the stranger, harder to find batteries out there), and it made a little gurgling noise for about 15 seconds, before dying completely. I might have chalked this up to an unlucky experience, if it weren't for the fact that the "lights and sounds" James we also got did the same thing within a week. We love the Thomas line on the whole, but this train is NOT a reliable engine, and honestly broke my little boy's heart. Avoid it!

(More customer reviews)Overall, the Geotrax toy line is great. However, this product is seriously flawwed. When put together according to the instructions, the plane gets stuck in not one but two places. This is due to the bend in the track. This cannot be corrected without adding more track which will ease the bends.
The other reviews are a little one sided. One reviewer purchased all three plane sets together and so had plenty of track. Another gave it 5 stars without even having seen it together.
My recommendation for this product is to only buy it if you are going to buy one of the other airplane tracks too. Otherwise, it will be wasted money.

Model Power HO Scale Building Kit - Farm House Review

(More customer reviews)I didn't get this farm house from amazon, but I just bought this kit, brand new from a hobby store, still in the shrink wrap, and it was not only missing three MAJOR pieces, the front of the house seems to be from a different set all together! I had to remake the entire house and use twice the glue just to make it work with out the three pieces, so if your buying a kit, beware.
Other then missing the pieces, it is a nice house, but I think I'll just by the pre-built buildings from now on.

Overall our Brio toys have held up to a beating and still look brand new. They are worth the money.

(More customer reviews)My one year old son does play with this toy, but it annoys me. The shape sorter holes are vertical and it is awkward for him to fit the shapes in. We typically turn the treehouse on its back to play with the shape sorter or he removes sorter piece altogether from the base. Every time the treehouse moves, the swing moves, so you constantly hear "up & down, up & down." It comes with 8 animals. My son definitely loves the animals, however he thinks the owl looks like a chicken and the goose is a duck (very hard to tell the difference). The toy attempts to be interactive by asking you to find the "skunk," for instance. I finally figured out how to answer it. You must gently place the animal in one of the two bases. If you press down, while placing it into the base, it will give you other information about that animal (I have a stripe or I like to be smelly). There is a hopscotch keypad with the numbers 1 through 10 on the colorful buttons. The toy asks what your favorite number is. I have yet to figure out how to answer. When I push a button on the keypad it says the corresponding color, not the number. There is a button on the television; my son loves to push it and hear the "Smartville Treehouse melody" over and over. Also, there are six shapes in the tree. Each has a corresponding nursery rhyme; however it doesn't sing the whole rhyme. Personally, I think there are better toys available, but he does play with it and seems to like it.
