(More customer reviews)I don't understand the negative reviews for this toy...maybe it's an age issue. My son is four & LOVES the battery powered train. He wanted a "train that goes by itself" & has all the other wooden Thomas railroad & engines. This train works well with the wooden track, will pull other cars with or without the track. My son is able to turn the train on/off & understands the importance of turning it off when not being used to preserve battery life. He's one that can get frustrated easily, but does not with this toy. We love it.
