(More customer reviews)I loved the idea of this product because our 1-year old (20 month) son loves to watch his father workout and lift weights. I hoped that getting him a toy that would help him feel included in the workout would keep him occupied (and also out of daddy's way for safety reasons.) He will play with them for a while, but quickly loses interest. The toys are easy enough for him to turn on and off by himself, but frankly (like many toys) the sounds are annoying and even with a volume control switch (off/low/high) he always turns them up full blast. The toy is supposed to say "up," "down," and give directions like that, but it hasn't not proven to be a very useful teaching tool. It might be in our best interest to take the batteries out and just call them weights. I almost wish there was a better "pretend" weights/exercise set that would just be what it is without all the sound effects and such.
I also think that this toy would be better suited for younger toddlers, even though the box says 18+ months.
