(More customer reviews)I recently purchased this piece to go with our Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway - Roundhouse and it was an instant hit with my almost 3 year-old. He immediately figured out how to turn it and back the engines into "Tidmouth Sheds" as he calls it.
I will note though - this piece is largely plastic. The only wooden part to it is in the center where the rails are. The attachment pieces (on the red part) are plastic, as is the grey-colored siding that guides the engines into the Roundhouse. ALSO, the wooden piece, for whatever reason, is not glued down to the red plastic piece and falls out very easily. Not a big deal when it's set up and attached to the Roundhouse, but still annoying. The grey-colored siding also snaps in and out which also is annoying. My son takes off the siding and then yells that it's broken. It snaps back into place easily, but I don't understand why it comes off at all. While the red plastic part is sturdy, the grey pieces are a bit more flimsy, and I could see them breaking in the future if they continue to be snapped in and out of place by little toddler hands.
Overall, this is a fun and very entertaining addition to our Thomas collection. My son plays with it a TON. I would recommend it if you have the standard Roundhouse & not the Deluxe.
