(More customer reviews)I got this train set for my Thomas obsessed 3 year old & his little sister to play with. I can't really afford the Thomas sets but I wanted him to be able to enjoy a great wooden set. It is made of durable wood which handles wear well. The little station house that comes with it is adorable, great painted detail & working crossing gates. The only problem I had was with the turntable which stuck at first, but I just removed the pin and hammered it straight (it was bent causing the top piece to grind into & stick to the lower piece) which solved the problem. It is fully compatible with the wooden Thomas sets. I do suggest getting the track clips though with ALL wooden train sets because little hands tend to knock over the risers & hills. Overall, this set is a great value for the low price & there are also matching sets that hook up to it as well.
