This streetcar is an accurate model of real-world streetcars that provided critical transportation in hundreds of American cities a century ago. It is an On30 model, which means that it is about the size of Lionel trains (and the right size to look good with Christmas villages), but it runs on HO track, which is a lot easier to fit into a small space than Lionel track. If you have an old HO set somewhere, you can clean off the track, hook up the DC power supply, and run this streetcar on it to give your Christmas village a bit more life. Bachmann also makes a set that includes a "back-and-forth" railroad, so your streetcar can run along your mantle or the back of your spinet, if you don't have room for a track circle. In fact this streetcar and its related products have been bestsellers in 2004 and 2005. One reviewer commented that this model is not a children's toy. He is right. It is an attractive model that will provide years of fun with careful handling by anyone over the age of eight. And, in case you wondered, Bachmann provides excellent service in case something actually did go wrong.
Have a great Holiday Season
