(More customer reviews)This is a great first wooden train set, and I think the most verstaile from Plan Toys. The crane is a really fun feature, more active than just a train station, and more educational. You can make both a bridge and a tunnel, not all sets allow you to do this.
And its a good price, too. We added a few add-ons to make it perfect for our daughter (she loves the crossing expansion and school busses).

(More customer reviews)My son received this train for his 2nd birthday 5 days ago and has played with it every day since then, loving it, talking about the trains and cargo and having so much fun. I am so impressed by the quality and when I did a search to buy a set for a friend's child, I could not believe the price! The quality is like an expensive train set. The size is great, too - both the figure-8 and oval formation fit on our coffee table, so he can stand up and play and we can enjoy it as well without getting onto the floor. Really, really happy with this gift!!!

(More customer reviews)Yup, this is not Tonka if you read the other reviewer. The ambulance makes realistic sounds, and the two figures add lots of realism to your playscape. Its a great addition to the Thomas hospital building (Brio doesn't have one that I know of)
Brio toys ARE expensive, but they are built nicely and to last.
My son enjoys the fact that this ambulance makes a distinct and different sound than the fire engine, or the police car, or the remote control train which also come with sound effects
