(More customer reviews)My 2.5 year old daughter has the Thomas Off to Work floor puzzle and loves it. She puts it together several times daily. I got this other one for her best friend's birthday. He was turning 3. When the box was opened and we went to put it together, I was disappointed. While it was a good size and seemed to be well made and durable, there were two reasons I didn't like it as much as the Off to Work puzzle. (1) Some of the pieces didn't fit INTO each other so that they locked into place. Instead, some of the pieces just rested next to each other. This is much harder for young kids to figure out and also results in pieces slipping apart from each other as the child goes on to do other pieces. (2) The outer edge is a freeform train shape. This is hard for the child to realize, so the outer edges are not helpful at all in figuring out which pieces go where and actually seemed to be a major distraction. The other Thomas puzzle is a simple rectangle shape so it's easy to think of it in terms of edge pieces, corner pieces, and inner pieces. I wouldn't buy this one again.
