(More customer reviews)I don't know if the Thomas friends have gotten kind of cheap since the new company took over, but Fergus is not a well made toy. The first Fergus we had, the wheel broke off. The company was really good about replacing him, but the replacement came and within a week he too was broken, not only the wheel, but part of the wood had chipped off. The idea is kind of cool, the wheel turns the gear , turning another wheel. That is all plastic, including the axle for the middle gear. Maybe had that axle been metal, it would be more durable. I can't recommend this as a toy, only for the collector.

ergus is a Traction Engine who shunts trucks at the Cement Works. He is a reliable, downtoearth engine who believes in playing by the rules. Not surprisingly, hes resistant to change and can be irritated when other engines muck about. Fergus flywheel rotates as his wheels roll.
