(More customer reviews)My son loves Thomas the Train. I found that the Take along Thomas sets are more affordable than the wooden set. These little metals trains are great - they are the train equivalent to a matchbox car. The tracks are easy enough for him to assemble on his own. Though I will say that the new Take Along Thomas tracks currently sold at Target are much more complicated and therefor usually require some help in assembling.
I highly recommend any Take Along Thomas product. My son has taken them everywhere - to the bath, the pool, the beach, in the car, in a suitcase full of trains and tracks - and they weather well. They don't rust or scratch as easily as one might expect.
