We bought this set for our son this Christmas. He really likes Lego Vikings, so we spent the day assembling the set. It took ~3 hours.
The set comes with an armored dragon, a catapult and three Vikings.
The dragon looks really good, and when you look at it you want to pick it up and play with it. It has two legs, two wings and two short, clawed arms like a T-rex. Parts of the dragon are protected with plate armor, and it also has fire coming out of its mouth. The dragon gas two chains hanging from its neck which I guess means it escaped or is about to be captured. Since the dragon can "fly", the Vikings have their work cut out for them!
The catapult can fire two boulders which crack open after hitting a solid object and then spray "fire" around--actually three translucent pieces. The Vikings are also armed with an axe and some spears. The catapult is less interesting than the dragon but it still looks pretty cool as it is fun to line it up and try to hit the dragon. The range of the boulders is not very far, 3 ft. or less.
Our son had a lot of fun playing with his new set. We also have the Viking ship.
Overall, would have been five stars if the caapult had greater rane, and if the chains didn't fall of the dragon a couple of times.
