Rheneas and Skarloey are 2 of his favorites, and 1 is only available in this pack (both were individuals, but one was discontinued). They are a great set together, as they are all "narrow gauge" (in the show only - the are standard wooden size for Thomas tracks). To complete the set, consider buying Duke, Peter Sam, and Sir Handel.
Thomas trains are wonderful. We own books, DVDs, and trains. I love when he watches a DVD, then tries to recreate the scene on his train table. Even without watching the show, he still enjoys playing Thomas at least half an hour a day. And since he usually invites me, his father, or his sister to play, it promotes quality family time on top of using his imagination.
While the trains are a bit pricey, they are a great deal for a 4 pack compared with buying them individually. Any Thomas fan will be happy to receive them.
