(More customer reviews)This remote control switch works just like a manual switch except that it is operated by a remote control and has a turning LED to indicate the current position. Note that there is a wire running between the remote control and the switch, but this is not displayed in some photos of the product. It is not a wireless switch as you might be led to believe. The wire connects to the inside part of the curve, but it is easy to move to the outside, which makes it easier to route it where you want it to go. Supposedly you can also move the LED from the inside of the curve to the outside, but I have not done this. The only thing I have against this product is the fact that the wire for the remote is only 6 feet long. This makes it difficult to place the remote where you like in even a reasonably sized layout. Therefore, I rewired my switch using some 22/4 cable from my local hardware store. I replaced the 6 foot cable with 15 feet of cable and it works great. The wires are only secured by screws so it was pretty easy to do. Be aware that this probably voids the warranty though. The remote control itself is pretty neat since it has a light inside that changes color as the switch position changes. There are also numbered lenses that you may slide over this light so that you may number your switches. One minor complaint is that these lenses are rather tricky to insert and remove though. Overall I am very pleased with this product.
