Johnny Lightning 1:64 Scale Back to the Future Time Machine Die-Cast Car Review

(More customer reviews)No movie die-cast vehicle collector can say there collection is anywhere near complete without the delorean from Back to the Future! There's a few manufacturers that brought out this vehicle but Johnny Lightning's is the best in my opinion. Johnny brought out this on a few different blister packs. I think this is the best one if you're just wanting the delorean time machine. It has nice blue lightning and the clock face in a sort of watermark behind the lightning along with the Back to the Future logo nicely on top. Other versions of the Johnny Lightning single vehicle blister you can get are from the Hollywood on Wheels release and come with a bonus showcard with a scene from the movie (there's a heap of different cards to choose from). Even though you get a showcard they still don't look as nice as this blister pack as the top half is a bit tacky looking with big Johnny Lightning words on a purple triangle, big Hollywood on Wheels logo and a white cross which is supposed to represent spotlights. Of course if you're taking the vehicle out of the blister and throwing then obviously just get whatever is cheapest.
I actually recommend though getting the same car in the Back to The Future Great Scott...Its a Time Machine blister diorama pack instead of buying it as a single. Although the card on the back of that blister doesn't look as nice as this, it also comes with Doc's 24hr Scientific Services van and little figures of Marty, Doc and Einstein (dog). It is displayed to look like the car park that Libyans in their blue and white combi van would turn up in a few seconds, kill Doc and shortly after Marty would go back in time while escaping them. That's the one to get as you can't get Doc's van by itself or the figures.
You can get 1:18 sized versions of this and the sequels but there's no sequel deloreans in 1:64 scale. I would love to see Johnny Lightning release the delorean from the second movie as a 1:64 scale (with the wheels folded up) as well the one from the third movie (when it is in train track mode). Also Biff's car, the Libyan combi van and some of the cars that were in the future at the start of the first sequel. Even better would be to release them in dioramas in scenes with the delorean!
