(More customer reviews)My son (18 months) loves the train and the tracks. There is one major flaw in that the train always goes off the track where it can connect to other pieces. Doesn't really bother an 18-month since he doesn't totally get that the train is supposed to stay on the tracks yet. To me, it seems like a trick to get you to buy more stuff and it would be annoying if you are using a battery powered Thomas.
