(More customer reviews)Even though I just started building the model, I do appreciate the quality in the detailed molding for such a small model. I really like the box; it has more information on it than most model boxes.
However, I wasn't impressed by the paint color information. It used code numbers to denote a specific Humbrol brand paint instead of telling you the name of the color. This isn't helpful on a b&w instructions sheet. Only on the box could you find a few small images of the colors in the paint scheme, but such a simple thing as paint colors shouldn't require hunting around for. And these images only showed the outside profile of the plane, so you're left to guess on the interior pieces. All that aside, what if I want to use my Testors paint I have on hand?
Another thing that would've been nice is names for each piece on the instructions, along to go with the numbers. I'm familiar with each part, but I'm sure it would mean a lot more to folks whom aren't.
Last negative is the wing joints aren't flush, but that might just be my model. Or maybe I'm griping and just need to suck it up and sand it.
To end on a positive note, I'm really really glad that Airfix modeled such a unique and interesting aircraft. The box art is awesome, as A. Tooby's always are.
I like the history blurb at the beginning of the instruction book, very nice.
Overall, this is a great model, except for the paint colors issue.
I only wish this was modeled more often, in a larger scale; 1:72 is too small imo.
