(More customer reviews)If I wasn't a bit lazy, I'd do a video review to show you how poorly this works. It does not function as advertised. First of all, something catches in the motor or the joint mechanism so that when he tries to sit up, he gets stuck and makes a disturbing vibrating noise and appears to be having a seizure. More importantly, he does not seem to understand anything anyone in my family says and performs tasks at random instead. His complete recalcitrance becomes grating and then insufferable. He is an unfortunate Christmas present, indeed. Sorry, little guy...

Spoken commands will cause the Smarty Pet to animate and respond with his own voice and body motions - including movementof the arms, head, ears, and body. Watch him dance or "shake hands". Just have the child talk to the pup and he'll talk back and play with them.
