Bachmann Trains Durango and Silverton - Freight Ready-to-Run Large Scale Train Set Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)We have had a lot of fun with this train. Tender was defective out of the box. We filled out the Bachmann on-line form and received a functioning replacement 3 months later out of the blue. Annoyingly, the customer service rep we called (after receiving the replacement) stated that we had to pay to ship the defective tender back or else we would be billed - we felt this was poor customer service since the unit has a limited lifetime warranty and was defective out of the box.

After founding the town of Durango, Colorado in 1880, the Denver & Rio Grande Railway began construction of a rail line the following year that connected their new community to nearby Silverton. Designed primarily to haul gold and silver from the San Juan Mountains, it is estimated that more than $300 million in precious metals have traveled the line throughout its history.
